Financial Controller | Transportation Logistics

Our client, a growing player in the transportation and logistics industry, is looking for an experienced, hands‑on Controller for a permanent, full‑time opportunity. Located in Calgary, AB, this 100% on‑site role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is capable of building, strengthening, and standardizing financial processes from the ground up.

• Competitive base salary ranging from $115,000 to $135,000 per year

• Oversee and manage the full‑cycle accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting
• Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all accounting functions
• Take ownership of month‑end and year‑end close processes, including overseeing bank reconciliations and invoicing
• Support and directly assist with day‑to‑day accounting activities
• Coordinate and support year‑end audits and review engagements, ensuring all documentation is accurate and on time
• Work closely with the on‑site General Manager and manage a small accounting team, including remote members
• Provide financial insights and reporting to the Corporate Controller to support management decision‑making

• Atleast 3 years of full‑cycle accounting experience, with proven experience in leadership, establishing internal controls and governance
• Previous experience in a service‑based industry is highly preferred
• Experience supporting audit and review engagements
• Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction in a fast‑paced environment
• Exposure to mergers, acquisitions, and post‑merger integration is considered a strong asset
• Comfort with occasional overtime during critical close periods and occasional travel
