We’re seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Professional to own full-cycle payroll across multiple business units with our client in the Automotive industry. This position plays a key role with the corporate office and will need strong experience to be the standalone payroll processor for a large organization.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
  • Independently process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1,000 employees across Canada and the U.S., including hourly, salaried, and bonus-eligible employees.
  • Manage all payroll-related employee changes, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, and leaves.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Reconcile payroll data, deductions, benefits, tax remittances, and payroll-related accounts.
  • Prepare and complete year-end payroll activities, including T4s, W-2s, ROEs, and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Act as the primary payroll contact for employees, management, and external agencies, resolving issues and inquiries promptly.
  • Generate payroll reports and support audits, month-end processes, and payroll-related analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiencies.
Your Strengths Include:
  • 7+ years of full-cycle payroll experience with demonstrated ownership of payroll processing.
  • Experience processing payroll for a workforce of 1,000+ employees across Canada and the United States.
  • Advanced proficiency with Payworks is required.
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a standalone payroll role with minimal supervision.
  • PCP designation is preferred; strong Excel skills and the ability to work full-time, in-office in Calgary are required.
