Position: Senior Accounting Analyst for Energy Sector

As a Senior Accounting Analyst at Suncor, you will be an integral part of our Controllers team, focusing on critical renewable fuel obligations and greenhouse gas emission reductions.

Your role will involve collaboration with the Supply, Trading & Optimization team and provide insights to drive financial decisions within the Environmental Commodities group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with Environmental Commodities team to provide financial insights

• Analyze provincial and federal emission program impacts on reporting

• Execute emission accounting month-end cycle, including journal entries

• Collaborate closely with Accounting Policy for improved accounting treatment

• Identify process improvements and enhance financial controls across teams

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 7+ years experience

• CPA, CMA, CGA, CA designation and strong financial principles

• Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and Microsoft Office

• Knowledge of SAP S4 and SAP Fiori, Triple Point is an asset

• Strong analytical and communication skills
