Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a wholesale distribution organization in Calgary on a contract basis. This role supports daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bookkeeping practices, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Process customer invoices, record payments, and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.

Prepare daily bank deposits and enter accounts payable and receivable transactions.

Reconcile general ledger accounts, customer deposits, and bank accounts.

Process supplier invoices, credit card charges, and employee expenses.

Reconcile customer and vendor statements, issue monthly statements, and follow up on overdue accounts.

Coordinate supplier payments and prepare cheques for authorization.

Review customs broker invoices to verify HS codes and duty amounts.

Support month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, government filings, supporting schedules, and audits.
