Our client operates a well-established automotive repair facility in Calgary, recognized for dependable service, up-to-date diagnostic technology, and a strong reputation within the community. The shop services a broad range of vehicles and prioritizes accuracy, efficiency, and long‑term customer relationships.
This position is suited for a licensed technician who is confident handling complex vehicle issues from diagnosis through completion. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This is a full‑time weekday role offering stable hours and a balanced workload.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The key job functions are:
- Assess vehicle concerns and determine appropriate repair solutions using diagnostic tools.
- Carry out mechanical repairs and maintenance services on a variety of vehicle systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections and accurately record results and recommendations.
- Develop detailed repair quotes and job documentation using Mitchell estimating software.
- Collaborate with service advisors to explain repair needs and timelines.
- Deliver consistent productivity while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
- Adhere to shop policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Education:
- Red Seal certification as an Automotive Service Technician is mandatory.
- Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) and Out of Province Inspection (OPI) credentials are required.
Qualifications:
- A valid driver’s license with a clean or acceptable abstract is required.
- Strong problem‑solving and diagnostic capabilities are essential.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team setting is required.
- Dependability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic are critical to this role.
Experience:
- Proven experience working in an automotive repair environment as a licensed technician is required.
- Demonstrated experience completing diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and preventative maintenance on various vehicle types is expected.
Skills:
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and diagnostic reasoning skills.
- Clear and professional communication with customers and internal staff.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Comfort using digital inspection tools and repair estimating platforms.
Base Salary: $35‑38 per hour
- Salary based on experience.
- Temporary and Contract employees are pay‑rolled weekly via direct deposit.
Work Hours:
- Full‑time hours, Monday to Friday.
Additional Notes:
- This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
