Your area of focus.
An Apprentice Automotive Technician is responsible for performing oil changes, tire services, and complete multi‑point inspections, presenting findings to the Service Advisor. They conduct diagnostics and repairs on various vehicle systems, including brakes, engines, and electrical components, using computerized tools to isolate faults. The role requires experience in oil changes and tire services, basic computer skills, shop experience, a valid Canadian driver’s license, and the physical ability to meet demands such as lifting and standing for long periods.
Whatdrives your day‑to‑day?
- Perform oil & filter change
- Sell lubrication, safety inspection, & related services
- Perform complete multi‑point inspection and present findings to Service Advisor
- Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires & add air as needed
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, & maintenance
- Inspect hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, & other items
- Inspect motors in operation, road‑test, & test systems & components using computerized diagnostics & other devices to diagnose & isolate faults
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts & components including fuel system, brakes, steering & suspension, engine & drive train, emission control & exhaust, cooling & climate control, & electrical & electronic systems
- Oil change & tire experience is an asset
- Basic computer skills
- Shop / dealership experience preferred
- Ability to meet physical demands such as heavy lifting, standing for long periods of time, and use of power and hand‑held equipment
- Must possess a valid Canadian Driver's license and a safe driving history
