We are looking for a Service Advisor to join our team at BMW Royal Oak/MINI Calgary
. The successful candidate is passionate about the automotive industry and eager to contribute to our growing team.
- Responsible for welcoming customers and gathering the required information to identify the vehicle repair and maintenance work required.
- Advise customers on maintenance schedules, explain the importance of maintenance based on manufacturers’ recommendations, sell services, understand and apply factory and aftermarket warranties, recommend additional services based on vehicle history, time and mileage, and provide the finance office with warranty expiration information.
- Document and complete a repair order, verifying customer information, preferred method of contact, vehicle information and concerns, accurate detailed price estimate, complete vehicle walk‑around, check vehicle history for open recalls and campaigns, and provide customer with an expected time frame for completion.
- Obtain pre‑authorization costs, parts availability, and payments.
- Verify the scope of warranty coverage prior to the work being done and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
- Monitor the progress of the work and keep customers informed regarding the status of their vehicle.
- Review CSI monthly score and day‑to‑day performance.
- Utilize CDK and Dealer‑FX on all customer pay repair orders and accurately order parts.
- Prepare and explain the work and charges to the customer.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Have a minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Service Advisor in the automotive industry.
- Clear written and oral communication skills with a focus on excellent customer service.
- Ability to interpret customers’ descriptions of vehicle problems and translate them into clear instructions for technicians.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to effectively deal with customers’ concerns or complaints.
- Good understanding of the brand, maintenance, and warranty requirements.
- Computer literate and able to use a variety of programs; quick to learn new ones.
- Previous experience with CDK and/or Dealer‑FX is considered an asset.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
