Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Site Superintendent / Senior Site Superintendent, you will oversee the on-site execution of multi-residential and mixed-use construction projects from inception to completion. You will ensure that quality, safety, schedule, and cost objectives are consistently achieved while maintaining strong relationships with sub-trades, consultants, and stakeholders.
Project Leadership & Coordination- Direct and motivate the project team both in the office and on-site to deliver superior results.
- Provide input to the Project Manager on pre-construction initiatives, including drawing reviews, subtrade pre-qualifications, high-level scheduling, and scope validation.
- Oversee site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to company standards.
- Manage day-to-day construction activities, including site opening/closing, trade coordination, and foreman meetings.
- Supervise base building concrete structures, building envelope installations, and interior finishing.
- Conduct QA/QC management to ensure adherence to specifications, including monitoring of concrete quality, curing, and site constraints.
- Lead weekly trade meetings and maintain lean planning practices (Last Planner).
- Enforce the company’s safety program and ensure compliance with all OH&S standards.
- Complete safety documentation (PSIs, incident reports, inspections) and collaborate with the Safety Manager as needed.
- Conduct daily reviews of trade safety plans and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Serve as the main site contact for consultants, trades, and suppliers, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project milestones.
- Review and validate Site Instructions, coordinate site reviews, and track deficiencies through to completion.
- Manage site public relations and uphold a professional image of the project and company.
- Maintain detailed daily construction reports, track concrete pours, and manage on-site materials and rentals.
- Coordinate crane operations, site utilities, testing, and inspections.
- Support project documentation, including RFIs, as-built drawings, and consultant reports.
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive site supervision experience, ideally in multi-family, high-rise, or mixed-use construction.
- Experience managing large-scale concrete and envelope projects from start to finish.
- Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, MS Project, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methodologies, and safety regulations.
- Experience with lean construction principles is an asset.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to quality, safety, and team collaboration.
- Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
