Matchbox Consulting Group is partnering with residential homebuilder in Calgary, and is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join their team. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate costing for multi-family home construction projects, supporting both pre-construction and active build phases. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of residential construction processes, cost control, and vendor relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for new home construction projects, including take-offs and material/labour costing
- Review and process interior and cabinet design packages.
- Approve and budget for change orders, ensuring plan details align with the actual costs.
- Identify discrepancies during interior reviews, determine necessary charges or credits, and coordinate with the Sales and Design teams to issue change orders.
- Reconcile budgets against incoming invoices, while investigating discrepancies, correcting errors, and providing accurate reporting.
- Process supplied selection change orders, while ensuring selections impacting other trades are properly captured in the upgrade process.
- Reconciling and investigating invoices against PO amounts.
- Develop and maintain effective vendor partner relationships.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of estimating experience in residential home construction
- Post-secondary education in Construction Estimating, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, or a related field
- Proficiency Sage
300/Timberline, Homefront, and Percision Builder - Previous experience with a high-volume multi-family home builder is an asset
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to detail
- Effective communication and organizational abilities
