Overview

We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Worker to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy equipment operation and paving, contributing to various asphalt projects. This role is essential for ensuring high-quality work and maintaining safety standards on job sites.

• Rake and spread asphalt mix to achieve proper grade, slope, and finish.
• Assist in aligning and straightening edges for a clean, uniform surface.
• Identify and correct imperfections or low spots in freshly laid asphalt
• Works with rakes to redistribute the asphalt mix more precisely as it leaves the screed and is ready for rolling.
• May operate a variety of hand and power tools as well as some equipment.
• Works as part of the paving crew primarily raking asphalt, shoveling excess asphalt and sweeping up debris.
• Complete a variety of other general labour assignments such as clean and prepare sites.
• Spread asphalt using efficient techniques and maintaining a good pace.
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour.
• Perform a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools.
• Maintain a clean job site, pick up tools and equipment in order to eliminate potential hazards.
• Other related duties as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with asphalt paving machinery.
• Familiarity with construction techniques related to asphalt application.
• Previous experience in a construction environment is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent teamwork skills and a commitment to safety practices.

Pay: $20.99-$35.00 per hour
