Underground Construction Technicians - Calgary Green Line LRT Project - Calgary, AB

Valard Construction is seeking Underground Construction Technicians to join their Distribution group for the Calgary Green Line LRT project. This hands‑on field role involves supporting the installation of underground electrical infrastructure, including cable and conduit installation, excavation, and equipment operation. The ideal candidates are physically capable, team‑oriented, and experienced in underground or civil construction environments.

• Previous experience in underground construction, civil infrastructure, or a related construction environment
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a satisfactory driver’s abstract
• Experience operating construction equipment (mini excavators, backhoes, directional drills)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labour outdoors for extended periods
• Flexibility to work varying hours and days as project schedules require
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings

• Previous experience supporting electrical infrastructure or LRT/transit construction projects
• Ground Disturbance certification
• Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) certification
• Standard First Aid / CPR certification
