Underground Construction Technician

Join Valard Construction as an Underground Construction Technician in Calgary, Alberta. This hands-on role focuses on installing underground electrical infrastructure for the Calgary Green Line LRT project.

As a key member of the Distribution group, you will work closely with the Foreman to support the installation of essential electrical systems. Critical responsibilities include excavation, concrete pouring, and operating construction equipment like mini excavators. You'll benefit from your previous experience in civil infrastructure and the ability to interpret construction drawings accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Erect temporary support structures for concrete walls

• Operate mini excavators and backhoes for installation tasks

• Dig trenches and reinforce them with concrete

• Maintain organized job site through daily cleanup

• Complete daily documentation such as timesheets

Requirements:

• Experience in underground construction or civil infrastructure

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors

• Flexibility for varying work hours

• Capacity to read and understand construction drawings
