Preconstruction Estimator

You ll play a vital part in shaping project success from the very beginning, supporting our preconstruction and estimating team in developing accurate, competitive bids that reflect First Onsite s high standards for quality and service.

• Review drawings, specifications, and proposals to perform detailed take-offs and cost analyses that create accurate and competitive estimates.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure pricing, scopes, and bids align with budget and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and construction professionals while supporting the buy-out of trades and sourcing materials for upcoming projects.
• Interpret complex information, solve problems quickly, and stay ahead of industry trends to ensure every bid is strategic, complete, and ready for execution.

• Minimum 3 years of estimating or preconstruction experience in construction or related industries
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in construction, estimating, or a related field is an asset
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, codes, and materials
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; intermediate ability in reading and understanding Xactimate scopes preferred
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines with precision and accuracy
• Skilled communicator who works seamlessly with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Leadership experience an asset
• Valid driver s license and clean driving abstract
