We are seeking a Workface Planner to join our growing Project Controls department to provide support to a Saskatchewan based project. This individual will be responsible for reviewing project deliverables, turnover requirements, work plans from multiple disciplines, and proactively identify potential conflicts or integration issues and resolving them. Other responsibilities include coordinating with and providing Work Face construction knowledge to project schedulers, engineers, superintendents, and managers.

- Site‑based role on a major industrial construction project in Fort McMurray, AB.
- Flights provided from Edmonton & Calgary.
- Camp accommodations only.
- Ensure that safety, quality, and efficiency are considered in the planning process to guarantee results at the Work Face.
- Provide hands‑on construction expertise to develop Field Installation Work Packages (FIWP’s)
- Act as a liaison between construction contractors and construction managers.
- Understand and communicate the safety regulations (Occupational Health and Safety Act) and project specific safety policies and procedures.
- Identify specific risks associated with executing the planned activities.
- Provide or arrange for inclusion of safety compliance in FIWP to mitigate specific risks.
- Ensure intended safety requirements are properly conveyed to workforce supervision.
- Coordinate all FIWPs to the schedule from design documentation to the field to ensure continuity and integration of plans, as part of a schedule.
- Surveillance of contractor FIWP process and close‑out.
- Assist subcontractors with accessing documentation and latest revisions necessary for building FIWP’s.
- Participate in regular meetings to proactively resolve planning conflicts across multiple disciplines & contractors.
- Modify, review, or adjust FIWP’s as necessary.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on industrial construction projects as a journeyman tradesperson or other construction project specialist.
- Industry Trades Certification or Technical Diploma.
- Proficiency in the operation of key office software and productivity tools such as MS Office.
- Basic understanding of project scheduling and estimating techniques.
- Interpersonal skills – establish direct working relationships and rapport.
- Communication skills – demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a changing environment.
- Effective and objective decision‑making capabilities by gathering factual information.
- Attention to detail and a focus on producing a quality product in a timely manner.
- Able to coordinate activities to meet requirements in a timely fashion.
- Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate.
