What Is The Opportunity?Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will provide field‑engineering information to the project management team and sub‑trades to ensure construction works comply with all design drawings, engineering standards, codes and specifications. The position is based out of our Quarry Park office in Calgary, Alberta, with regular travel to project sites.
What You’ll Do- Meet daily with project crews to review the production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources are available to keep work on schedule and within budget.
- Collect, coordinate and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data throughout the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
- Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling; identify risks that could impact budget or schedule.
- Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to track project performance; document activities using company‑approved methods and technologies.
- Notify team members and manager of significant schedule changes and recommend solutions.
- Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
- Maintain accurate project quantity input and cost coding to ensure financials are accurately reported; liaise with finance and accounting on employee time and material needs.
- Review project specifications for quality assurance before, during, and after work; initiate and manage certificates, inspections and other documentation.
- Work with crews and engineering leaders to plan field layout, ensuring utilities and commercial lines are marked before production; initiate and manage necessary permits.
- Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedules and crews as needed.
- Reconcile job close‑out checklist with the owner representative and field crews at project completion.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

- Post‑secondary education in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or comparable education and experience.
- Minimum of 2–5 years as a Field Engineer or Project Coordinator, ideally in a heavy‑civil construction environment.
- Experience with earthworks, grading, underground utility work, electrical work, GBC and paving work, concrete work, or similar construction activities.
- Knowledge of construction equipment & techniques, drawings & specifications, building materials and applicable standards.
- Experience with Alberta Transportation or City of Calgary projects is an asset.
- Proficiency with industry software (e.g., Primavera Scheduling, AutoCAD, SAP).
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
- Flexibility to work in both field and office, and willingness to work night shifts if required.
