The Site Superintendent is accountable for coordination, administration, and site supervision for construction projects, ensuring Bird’s values and business objectives are adhered to on site, consistently demonstrating the Bird brand, and operating a site where all stakeholders are treated with respect and professionalism.

• Assist in business‑development opportunities and work with the Proposal Lead to develop project schedules, methodologies, and site logistics for proposals.
• Pre‑construction: develop and maintain master project schedules using MS Project or Primavera P6; create Health, Safety and Environment Plans; review contracts; coordinate equipment requirements; select trade subcontractors; conduct constructability reviews.
• Construction management: organize, direct, and control daily construction operations; prepare 2‑ and 6‑week resource‑loaded schedules; monitor progress against the master schedule; control site logistics and maximize efficiencies; maintain daily reporting; execute quality programs; approve timesheets; conduct daily huddles, weekly trade meetings, and progress meetings; purchase, track, and forecast materials; review subcontractor submittals; support commissioning and turnover plans; address deficiencies; manage risk following the Risk Management Plan;
  
  communicate daily with the Project Manager; attend owner meetings; record permits, inspections, commissioning, training, and hand‑over activities.
• Post‑construction: complete warranty work; close all site accounts; address warranty‑period deficiencies; demobilize site.
• Employee and talent management: oversee direct reports; coach and develop employees; partner with Human Resources; conduct performance review plans and assessments.

• Undergraduate degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, or Red Seal endorsement.
• 10+ years of construction industry experience, preferably in health care, education, sports, and recreation construction.
• Strong familiarity with contract administration, drawings, specifications, architectural and engineering standards, and building codes.
• Excellent budgeting, costing, and scheduling skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, Procore, and SAP.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing all disciplines, internal employees, and external sub‑trades.
• Ability to inspire trust in challenging situations and engage people on matters that affect them.
• Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet unpredictable time demands; resilient under pressure and challenges.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills; high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated through speaking to groups of employees on site and communicating to stakeholders including clients, management, and site employees.
