Position: Lead Hand for Renovation Projects
Become a Lead Hand at the Calgary John Howard Society, focused on renovation projects, including painting and maintenance. Mentor crews while ensuring quality and safety on job sites.

The Calgary John Howard Society seeks a hands-on Lead Hand in its construction social enterprise. In this role, you will support renovation and maintenance efforts, focusing on painting, while acting as a right-hand support to the Crew Supervisor. Your responsibilities will include mentoring crew members, managing supplies, and maintaining safety standards, ensuring the job meets CJHS quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily renovation tasks including painting and drywall

• Assist Crew Supervisor with job planning and site leadership

• Provide hands-on training and mentorship to crew members

• Monitor job site safety and compliance with OH&S standards

• Track inventory and assist with material orders

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in painting or renovation

• Experience in a senior crew or lead hand role

• Strong practical skills in construction work

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
