Our Project Development group is currently looking to add a Project Manager to our team, based in Calgary, Alberta.
Reporting to the Director, Preconstruction, we are seeking a diligent and collaborative professional to support Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) for the planning and start up of large electrical infrastructure projects. This position will support planning as well as manage project schedules, costs, subcontractor performance, and stakeholder communication, providing hands-on project management support to transmission projects across Canada.
Duties and Responsibilities
Create and execute project strategies and objectives in alignment with the company's goalsDevelop, maintain, and report on project schedules, milestones, and execution plans in collaboration with the Project ManagerShape and drive procurement strategies to optimize costs, quality, and lead timesNegotiate contracts with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and conditionsReport regularly on project financial performance to senior managementPrepare invoices, track project costs, forecast variances, and prepare regular financial performance reports for the Project Manager and senior leadershipManage day-to-day relationships with clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and project partners on behalf of the Project ManagerRequirements
Post-Secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field7 years of experience in project managementDemonstrated understanding of project management concepts / tools and project controls (including schedule, cost, and change management)Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or working towards obtainingProficient in Microsoft Excel for tracking and reportingPreferred Skills / Qualifications
Experience supporting Electrical Infrastructure projectsDemonstrated Project cost controlsExperience with utility construction (Transmission, Distribution, Substation)Benefits
