We are seeking an experienced
Estimator – Municipal Infrastructure
to play a vital role in delivering complex civil projects that serve communities and cities. This full-time position based in Calgary offers the chance to work on high-impact water, wastewater, and bridge infrastructure, collaborating with diverse stakeholders and driving cost-effective solutions. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for municipal civil projects including water, wastewater, and bridges from concept to tender.
  • Conduct comprehensive material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor take-offs, calculating unit costs, labour rates, escalation, and contingency.
  • Lead estimating workshops and facilitate transparent cost decision-making with project owners and partners.
  • Present and defend complex cost data confidently in meetings and discussions.
  • Collaborate with operational teams on constructability and pre-construction support, including procurement, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure estimates meet project specifications, schedules, and budgets.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in construction, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in municipal civil estimating, especially water, wastewater, and bridge projects.
  • Proficiency with advanced Excel and cost estimating software.
  • Strong understanding of full project cost estimation, from design to tender.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data simply.
  • Experience working in collaborative delivery models and leading estimating workshops is preferred.
  • Additional skills in transportation infrastructure, constructability, and mentorship are advantageous.
