Content Creator – Whats Good Calgary  (.IMG – Innovate Media Group)

Location: Calgary, AB (On-Site)

Job Type: Full-Time

About Us

Whats Good Calgary  is one of Calgary’s fastest-growing local media brands, spotlighting the people, places, food, music, and events that make this city incredible. As a subsidiary of .IMG (Innovate Media Group), we create high-impact content for an audience that’s hungry for what’s happening in YYC — from viral short-form videos to in-depth features and studio shoots.

We're building a powerhouse team of creators who love storytelling, thrive in fast-paced environments, and get excited about exploring Calgary every day.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a full-time, on-site Content Creator who lives and breathes social storytelling. You’ll plan, shoot, and edit content for Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube, and our upcoming long-form and studio series. You’ll be out in the city covering restaurants, events, local businesses, artists, and cultural happenings — as well as participating in on-camera segments when needed.

If you’re creative, organized, confident on camera, and know how to turn moments into content that people share, you’re who we want.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, plan, and execute short-form and long-form video content
  • Film on location across Calgary and in our studio
  • Capture high-quality photos and b-roll
  • Edit videos for Tik Tok, Instagram Reels, You Tube Shorts, and full-length features
  • Participate in brainstorming for new series, campaigns, and creative ideas
  • Work closely with the Whats Good Calgary  and .IMG team to maintain brand voice and content style
  • Attend events, restaurant openings, concerts, markets, and community activities for coverage
  • Be comfortable and confident appearing on camera as needed
  • Manage posting schedules and ensure content delivery timelines are met
Qualifications
  • Experience creating high-quality social media content (portfolio required)
  • Strong editing skills (Cap Cut, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut)
  • Comfortable filming with phones and cameras
  • Strong understanding of current content trends, hooks, pacing, and viral formats
  • Confident communicator with strong on-camera presence
  • Ability to work quickly, solve problems on the fly, and adapt in dynamic environments
  • Knowledge of Calgary’s culture, food scene, and local happenings is a major asset
  • Must have reliable transportation for on-location shoots
What We Offer
  • Competitive full-time salary
  • Opportunity to work inside a leading Calgary media group (.IMG)
  • A creative, collaborative environment
  • Access to studio, gear, and production resources
  • Unique access to Calgary’s most exciting people, events, restaurants, and experiences
  • Room for growth into hosting, production, show development, or management roles
