Art Director

Position: Art Director - SPIER & MACKAY )
About the Role  Spier & Mackay is looking for an Art Director to own the visual execution of the brand. The brand world is fully defined — the visual language, the aesthetic brief, the target customer. Your job is to bring it to life with genuine craft and run the process that produces it consistently.
This role spans creative direction and production. You'll develop the shot list and direct the shoot, and you'll own the creative logistics that make it happen — casting, scouting, and vendor relationships.
You'll work directly with the founder and direct a stylist and photographer on set, ensuring everything that goes out under the Spier & Mackay name meets the brand standard.
Responsibilities  Pre-Production   Develop shot lists, mood boards, and reference packages for each shoot
Lead location scouting and casting
Brief the stylist on garment selection and set direction ahead of each shoot
On-Set   Direct talent, set, and light in alignment with the brand visual world
Make real-time creative decisions under pressure
Ensure styling is on-brand in the frame
Post-Production   Lead image selection; cull and approve selects before retouching
Review and sign off on final retouched images before delivery
Maintain a consistent visual standard across e-commerce, lookbook, editorial, and social
Ongoing   Build and maintain vendor, agency, and location relationships over time
Contribute to the evolution of the visual identity as the brand grows
What We're Looking For   5 to 8 years of experience in fashion or lifestyle creative direction, with a portfolio demonstrating both aesthetic range and consistent execution quality. You've owned a shoot process before — not just the creative side. Genuine menswear sensibility is an asset, not a nice-to-have. You should be able to read the brand guide and immediately know whether this is your world.
