Position: Jobs Production Assistant Summer Contract – Trickster Theatre

Production Assistant – Summer Contract (Trickster Theatre, Calgary)

Trickster Theatre is seeking a highly organized and hands‑on Production Assistant to support our summer overhaul and preparation period. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of technical theatre work, organization, and behind‑the‑scenes production support in a fast‑paced touring environment.

The successful candidate will assist with equipment maintenance, inventory systems, costume and prop management, puppet care, digital updates, and support for training and documentation resources.

This is an 8‑week position ending in late August 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the maintenance, testing, repair, and organization of lighting, sound, video, and staging equipment
  • Assist with digital upgrades for computers, software, and audio libraries
  • Inventory, clean, repair, and organize costumes, props, and large‑scale puppets
  • Support updates to procedural manuals and training materials for staff and educators
  • Assist with organizing touring rigs, storage systems, and production inventories
  • Contribute to resource development for artist training programs and educational materials
Qualifications
  • Experience or interest in technical theatre production or backstage operations
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable handling equipment, inventory systems, and physical tasks
  • Experience with Google Workspace considered an asset
  • Interest in theatre education, touring productions, and arts organizations
