The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra invites applications for the Principal Oboe position, available for a full-time commitment starting in 2027. Auditions are scheduled for November 6, 2026. Applicants should be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or have valid work authorization from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform as the lead oboe in orchestral settings
• Work closely with fellow musicians during rehearsals
• Contribute to the orchestra's artistic vision
• Participate in various outreach and education activities
• Represent the orchestra in concerts throughout the season
Requirements:
• Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
• Valid work authorization for temporary residents
• Demonstrated experience in oboe performance
• Strong collaborative skills with orchestral peers
• Commitment to a full 40-week season
