The Social Media Coordinator.
Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for the arts and digital media? The Department of Art & Art History is looking for an enthusiastic and tech-savvy undergraduate student to join our team as our Social Media Coordinator for the current fall and upcoming winter term.
- Fall and Winter Sessions (12 weeks per term);
- 30 hours per term (min 3 hours per week); 60 hours per academic year;
- Scheduling aligned with department events and activities.
In this role, you will be the creative voice behind our department's online presence. You'll bring our vibrant community to life by highlighting student achievements, showcasing gallery exhibitions, promoting upcoming artist talks, and sharing the daily inspiration happening across our studios and classrooms.

Summary ofKey Responsibilities
- Create and schedule engaging content for departmental social media channels.
- Gather and share information about upcoming events, exhibitions, talks, student activities, and department news.
- Take and/or source photographs and short videos for social media.
- Draft brief, accessible captions and promotional copy.
- Monitor social media activity and respond or direct inquiries as appropriate.
- Work with faculty and staff to identify content and promotional opportunities.
- Follow department and University guidelines for social media, accessibility, and privacy.
- Applicants should have an interest in art, art history, and social media, with strong written communication skills and familiarity with platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.
- Experience creating social media content, photography, video, or graphic design is an asset, but not required.
- Training and guidance will be provided on departmental priorities, social media practices, accessibility, and relevant University policies.
