JUMP Math is a federally registered Canadian charity with an equity-driven mission to transform children’s experience with math learning and empower them to achieve their full potential. At JUMP Math, we believe every child can not only learn math but love it. Our evidence-based, Preschool to Grade 8 math program empowers teachers to help over 600,000 students annually in classrooms across the globe to master important foundational math skills.

Reporting to the Director, Publications, the Graphic Designer is responsible for laying out content in an accurate, suitable, timely, and appealing manner, using mainly InDesign and Illustrator to transform manuscripts to print-ready and digital layout. The Graphic Designer coordinates with other team members to ensure quality and consistency of output, ensuring that in-house files are in compliance with specified formats/styles. The Graphic Designer also makes suitable revisions or changes in overall design (or new design as needed).

This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) 3-month contract role. This role may be fully remote.

$57,000 to $62,000 per year based on experience.

• Lay out manuscript using InDesign following JUMP Math production standards and guidelines
• Ensure that writers’ art manuscript is of adequate quality at production handover
• Create artwork using Illustrator, following standards and guidelines
• Work with editors and writers to resolve design issues/problems
• Ensure layouts are completed in a timely fashion and deadlines are met
• Coordinate with other Graphic Designers to ensure quality and compatibility of layout
• Report at weekly production meetings, updating on status of files and production issues
• Other design work as required

• Proficient computer skills on PC – Adobe CC (Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft 365
• Good communication, written and oral

• 2 years’ experience using InDesign and Illustrator
• Post-secondary Graphic Design Degree or Diploma or equivalent work experience
• Textbook-format publishing experience an asset
• Figma experience an asset
• Vector illustration skills an asset
• Production pre-press experience an asset
