Temporary HR Advisor - Retirement Services

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries from Suncor’s retirees and beneficiaries via e‑mail and telephone regarding their pension, benefits, and compensation entitlements with a strong customer focus.
• Case‑manage and administer employee files from initial notification to completion for employee retirements, retiree death, and dependent death.
• Provide advisory services to members regarding plans and the impact of member actions.
• Ensure all transactions are completed accurately in Workday for final pay and for proper set up of retiree and surviving spouses’ pension and benefits.
• Partner with internal and external partners to provide information and manage escalations to enhance customer experiences.
• Complete audits periodically to ensure our retirement plans are operating correctly.

• Two years of pension, benefits, or customer service experience.
• High degree of attention to detail and organizational skills with proven advisory, problem‑solving, and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage difficult conversations and build positive relationships.
• Strong understanding of priorities and deadlines with a sense of urgency.
• Acceptance of transferable skills is encouraged if not all qualifications are met.

This office‑based role is located at the Calgary head office, Suncor Energy Centre, 150 – 6th Ave S.W. Hours of work are a regular 40‑hour week, Monday to Friday.

This is a 6‑month contract with the potential to become permanent. Compensation is based on internal guidelines and will consider years of experience and scope of work.
