The registered Dental Hygienist is an independent practitioner who assesses, diagnoses, plans and provides clinical and educational dental care to patients in a dynamic and ever‑changing setting. The clinic focuses on adult patients, including those who are financially and socio‑economically vulnerable, medically compromised, awaiting solid organ transplants, immunocompromised, undergoing cancer therapy, awaiting cardiac surgery, with bleeding disorders, significant cognitive impairments, and special needs.
DescriptionAs a Dental Hygienist you will:
- Provide clinical oral health care services, health promotion, and preventive educational programs.
- Examine and chart oral conditions, assess periodontal status, analyze and interpret client/patient conditions to develop a client/patient‑centered diagnosis, assessment, and treatment plan.
- Provide public education regarding oral health.
- Develop and provide in‑service and training sessions; provide dental screening and preventive services to schools and participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of oral health programs.

- Minimum Salary: $55.29 per hour
- Maximum Salary: $70.97 per hour

- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Dental Hygienists (ACDH).
Required Qualifications
- BLS certification
- Local anesthetic certificate
- Nitrous oxide certification
- Prescribers license
- Minimum five years experience as a dental hygienist.
- Experience in a hospital‑based setting.
- Experience working with special‑needs or vulnerable populations.
