As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will engage in collaborative efforts with the Calgary oral health team, providing a range of dental services in various settings like schools and clinics. Your responsibilities will include performing fluoride varnish applications, dental sealant applications, and visual assessments, along with maintaining patient records and preparing instruments. The position involves both independent and team environments, emphasizing communication and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct visual oral health assessments for children
• Apply fluoride varnish and dental sealants for students
• Educate patients on oral health and preventive care
• Maintain cleanliness of the dental area and instruments
• Collaborate with dental professionals to support service delivery
Requirements:
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting Program
• Active registration with the College of Alberta Dental Assistants
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in dental assisting
• Knowledge of infection control practices
• Strong communication skills in English
