Climbing Instructor

Position: Climbing Instructor at Mount Royal University
Lead exciting climbing sessions with Cougars Athletics and Recreation at Mount Royal University. Teach diverse groups essential climbing skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

As a Climbing Instructor, you will be part of the adventure programming team s role requires 18-24 months of relevant experience and a passion for coaching individuals of all skill levels. You will foster an engaging atmosphere, ensuring safety and promoting a sense of belonging for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach technical climbing skills, including lead climbing and belaying

• Welcome participants; emphasize key facility policies

• Distribute and manage rental equipment efficiently

• Actively supervise climbers for safety and well-being

• Provide coaching and corrective feedback on techniques

Requirements:

• Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification required

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

• 18-24 months of relevant climbing experience

• Advanced knowledge of climbing techniques

• ACMG Level 1 Climbing Gym Instructor certification preferred
