About Us Kingsway Drafting & Design is a growing design and drafting firm focused on delivering high-quality residential and light commercial design solutions. Our work emphasizes precision, buildable design, and clear construction documentation that supports builders, developers, and homeowners throughout the permitting and construction process.
Position Overview Kingsway Drafting & Design is seeking a highly capable and creative Architectural Technologist who can work independently and take projects from concept through to full permit-ready construction documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable managing drawing production with minimal supervision. This role requires someone who takes ownership of their work and is willing to go above and beyond to deliver accurate, high-quality drawing packages.
Key Responsibilities Produce complete permit-ready construction drawing packages for residential and light commercial projects
Develop detailed architectural drawings including plans, elevations, sections, and construction details
Coordinate drawings to meet municipal permit requirements and applicable building codes
Create accurate and well-organized Revit models and documentation sets
Ensure drawing sets are technically sound, coordinated, and construction-ready
Work collaboratively with the design team, engineers, and consultants when required
Identify design or technical conflicts and resolve them proactively
Maintain drafting standards and ensure consistency across projects
Qualifications Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or a related field
Experience producing permit and construction drawings
Strong ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal direction
Advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows
Exceptional technical knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and detailing
Strong understanding of building codes and permit requirements
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to conduct their own research on by-laws and ensure code compliance
Preferred Skills (Bonus)
Experience with D5 Render or similar real-time visualization software
Experience coordinating with consultants and multidisciplinary teams
Solid visualization and presentation capabilities
