Description

As a Design Specialist (Contract) within the PP&S team, you will focus on the delivery of innovative design solutions that reflect our clients brand, culture, and strategic vision. This role prioritizes the production of high-quality design deliverables that ensure all spaces are functional, sustainable, and aesthetically sound. Serving as a dedicated resource, you will directly support design solutions and technical execution for our branch refresh initiatives across the retail network.

Your passion for design, technical expertise, and collaborative approach will be instrumental in shaping the future of our clients workplace and retail environments.

Responsibilities
  • Design Documentation & Space Planning
  • Create all relevant construction and furniture documentation across all project stages.
  • Translate high‑level design concepts and user requirements into detailed, optimized spatial layouts.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to produce precise design plans, detailed drawings, and comprehensive technical specifications.
  • Standards Application
  • Apply established brand standards and specifications to ensure visual consistency across the retail network.
  • Ensure all designs align with the functional, operational, and financial requirements of the space to support cost‑effective execution.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Conduct regular audits and site visits to ensure project execution adheres to standards, local building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Uphold and protect stakeholder relationships by ensuring design solutions address the unique operational needs of a financial institution (e.g., physical and operational security, client confidentiality, and seamless service).
  • Project Logistics & Troubleshooting
  • Monitor individual project timelines and quality standards from initial sketch to final construction.
  • Navigate complex technical challenges on‑site and mitigate project‑level risks effectively.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in workplace or retail design, with a strong emphasis on design execution, production, and technical delivery.
  • Deep understanding of modern design principles, practices, and techniques. Solid familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Advanced, hands‑on proficiency in design software, specifically AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proven ability to transform abstract business objectives and brand identity into physical environments that prioritize user flow, accessibility, and the overall occupant experience.
  • Ability to integrate empathy‑led design principles—such as universal accessibility, neurodiversity considerations, and wellness standards—into technical drawings. You can seamlessly balance user well‑being with critical banking requirements, including line‑of‑sight security, acoustic privacy, and frictionless transaction flows.
  • Excellence in producing comprehensive design packages that flawlessly communicate intent to contractors, stakeholders, and project managers.
  • Confidence in evaluating complex on‑site options and making sound technical decisions independently to drive project success.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with stakeholders and convey complex design data clearly. Highly adaptable to evolving priorities and organizational challenges.
  • Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related field.
