About the Role
The Architectural Technologist is responsible for developing and coordinating detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, integrating cross‑functional inputs to ensure design standards, building codes, and project timelines are met, while supporting retail project delivery through accurate technical documentation, visualizations, and collaboration with project managers, procurement, and external consultants.
What You’ll Do- Frequent communication and coordination between procurement, construction project managers, and stakeholders to ensure standards and timelines are adhered to.
- Production of design and construction drawings using AutoCAD.
- Gathering all inputs to be captured in the project drawings package in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Assisting with maintenance of AutoCAD manual standards, prototypes drawings, specifications and block libraries.
- Producing 2D and 3D presentations and renderings when required.
- Interior and exterior graphics coordination.
- Providing overall support to the team when required.
- Working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Maintaining high-quality standards, strong attention to detail, and proven ability to meet deadlines.
- 5+ years of related work experience, specifically in retail design.
- Degree or diploma in Architectural Technology, Interior Design, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and knowledge of ArchiCAD, Sketch Up or other CAD software.
- Knowledge of interior‑built environment and drafting standards, layouts, and conventions.
- Experience working in commercial buildings and coordinating with outside consultants.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements, with ability to research municipal and federal documentation.
- Ability to coordinate drawing documentation with professional consultants and interpret their documents accurately.
- Ability to work flexibly in both remote and in‑person collaborative office settings.
- Strong communication, time‑management, and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and multi‑task.
- Energetic, proactive, detail‑orientated, and capable of taking initiative while following directions.
- Strong customer‑service skills via in‑person, phone, and email interaction.
The typical hiring range is between $53,000.00 and $88,000.00 CAD annually. The target salary range is between $60,000.00 and $70,000.00 CAD annually.
