Hays is partnered with an award-winning Calgary-based land developer and residential home builder. They have been creating innovative and successfulmunities across the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area for over 30 years. At the present time they are positioned for their next growth phase with a multi-year land base, strong financial resources, and an exceptional management team, with that they are looking to hire a forward-thinking Design & Production Manager to lead and mentor their production and design teams.

Your new role

In your role, you will be playing an integral part in the success of the firm, through effective leadership, innovative ideas, and nurturing of the drafting & design team. You will lead and mentor the Production & Design team, fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment. Oversee the production of working drawings and plot plans, ensuringpliance with building codes, land-use bylaws, andpany standards.

Manage project workflows, track deadlines, and ensure timelypletion of documentation and deliverables. Collaborate with architectural control officers and internal stakeholders to resolve design issues and meetmunity guidelines. Drive innovation through the development of new home models and updates to construction details. Support estimating and construction teams with technical guidance and drawing revisions. Maintain AutoCAD standards, manage digital file structures, and coordinate with IT on system backups.

Conduct site visits and attend construction meetings to ensure design intent is realized on-site.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Architectural Technology or a related field. Ideally you will possess a minimum of 10 years in architectural design, with at least 4 years in a leadership role. Prior experience working with a production home builder is a strong asset. You will be proficient with AutoCAD. You will have a proven ability to lead, develop and inspire a team.

You will also have excellent verbal and writtenmunication – with the ability to develop strong relationships with clients (internal & external). You must possess sound knowledge of local buildings codes and bylaws.

What you'll get in return

The successful candidate will receive an attractivepensation package $110,000 - $13,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus, benefits including health + dental, RRSP and 4 weeks’ vacation with 4 flex days and the week off over Christmas.
