In your role as an Orthoptist, you will facilitate eye care for over 25,000 patients annually while actively participating in educational rounds and research studies. You'll conduct specialized assessments for complex eye disorders, including strabismus and neuro-ophthalmology conditions. Your expertise in ocular anatomy, diagnostic testing, and management practices will be crucial to patient outcomes in a high-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform advanced-level eye function measurements and tests
• Assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating disorders
• Participate in educational rounds and research initiatives
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ocular pharmacology
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in patient management
Requirements:
• Certified Orthoptist credential from an accredited program
• Minimum three years of experience in strabismus clinics
• Active membership with the Canadian Orthoptic Council
• Proficiency in specialized assessments and diagnostic testing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
