Position: Assistant Professor level in Nucleic Acid Therapeutics & Immune Engineering.

Tier II Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Nucleic Acid Therapeutics & Immune Engineering

Department of Physiology & Pharmacology – Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary.

We invite applications for a tenure‑track appointment at the Assistant Professor level in Nucleic Acid Therapeutics & Immune Engineering. The successful applicant will be nominated for a National Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Tier 2 Canada Research Chair and will occupy laboratory space in the Snyder Institute. Alignment with the research directions of the Snyder Institute and the Cumming School of Medicine is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Develop an independent, externally funded research program in chronic inflammatory disease or infectious disease focused on nucleic‑acid therapeutics and immune engineering.
  • Allocate 75 % of time to research and seek extramural support from national and provincial agencies.
  • Engage in teaching (undergraduate and/or graduate) and supervise graduate students.
  • Collaborate with members of the Inflammation Research Network, Gastrointestinal Research Group, Immunology Research Group, and Lung Health Research Group as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. (or equivalent) with at least three years of post‑doctoral experience.
  • Track record in nucleic‑acid therapeutics/immune engineering demonstrated by peer‑reviewed publications, awards, or letters of reference.
  • Proven capability to lead an independent research program and secure national grants.
  • Experience in undergraduate/graduate teaching and supervision of graduate students.
