The University of Calgary’s Department of Chemistry is inviting applications for part‑time, sessional instructor positions for CHEM 697.04, a 3‑unit advanced physical chemistry course focused on electrochemistry. Successful candidates will deliver lectures and associated duties for this course during the Winter 2026 term.
Teaching ScheduleTuesdays – Thursdays, 3:00 PM to 4:15 PM

- Design and deliver lecture content for a highly specialized chemistry course.
- Develop, administer, and evaluate assessment materials.
- Promote an inclusive learning environment and support student learning.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the field of physical chemistry.
- Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, ideally in electrochemistry or a comparable advanced chemistry course.
- Strong research background in electrochemistry.
- Familiarity with D2L (Desire2
Learn) is an asset. - Record of academic inclusivity and engagement with diverse student populations.
