PostingCFIS is seeking an exceptional educator to teach Social Studies for the remainder of the 2025‑2026 school year. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues to uphold program excellence and maintain high standards for student learning, progress, and support. The successful candidate will work with students to help them reach their full potential in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme, with a specific grade level assignment to be determined.
Please note that French is the language of instruction for this position.
Responsibilities- Short‑term and long‑term curriculum planning
- Lesson delivery and differentiation
- Evaluation, assessment, and documentation of student progress
- Classroom organization/management
- Strong communication with parents, students, and colleagues
- Applying developmentally appropriate and current teaching methodologies
- Implementation and integration of instructional technology
- Working collaboratively with colleagues
- Implementing values of digital citizenship
- Fostering a classroom culture and school environment that values the development of French language competencies
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is desirable
- Bachelor of Education
- Eligible for or in possession of an Alberta Teaching Certificate or Alberta Interim Teaching Certificate
- Fluent in French
- Ability to communicate with parents in English (written and oral)
- Valid first‑aid certification or willingness to become certified
The successful applicant will need to provide a recent Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to commencing work.
Skills, Technical and Behavioural Competencies Required- Strong planner and organizer with exemplary communication skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and French
- Committed to providing quality educational experiences for students
- Understanding of the philosophy and principles of French immersion education is an asset
- Interpersonal skills that foster collegiality and align with CFIS’s values
As per the CFIS teaching salary grid.
