The Glencoe Club is a private, family-oriented sports and social club located in the Elbow Park neighbourhood of Calgary, Alberta. Our facility boasts a full-service food and beverage department as well as eight sport facilities. These facilities include curling, bowling, skating, aquatics, squash, tennis, badminton and a new expansion that includes a climbing centre, a fitness centre and an indoor playground.

We also have a pro shop, wellness centre, physiotherapy, childminding, Licensed Preschool and Out of School Care.

We are seeking full time Youth and Teen Coordinator to join our team. We are looking for positive and energetic individual who enjoys working in a team oriented dynamic environment to assist the Youth and Teen Director in maintaining the highest quality of service, programming and instruction of Youth and Teen programs, services, camps, workshops, and events. They will be responsible for developing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating youth programs directed towards the enhancement of the quality of life for youth.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent, outstanding service to the members, guests, employees and co-workers
  • Monitor the needs and expectations of the membership through good communication
  • Ensure members are aware of and adhere to rules and regulations
  • Effectively address members concerns and complaints
  • Learning and understanding the operation of the Northstar registration system
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of the summer day camps including leader and volunteer interviews, on-going communication with members regarding registration and camp information
  • Ensure a family and fun focus in programs, events, and services including but not limited to summer camps, Spring Break camps, Club wide Halloween Party, workshops, programs, youth mentorship and leadership, birthday parties and special events
  • Ensure the delivery of high quality programs, activities and services that are consistent with member needs and evolving trends
  • Actively contribute to the program and service departments’ teamwork and collaboration
  • Administrative responsibilities include assisting with:
    • Program building
    • Special event planning
    • Team communication
    • On-boarding
    • Recognition
    • Succession planning
  • Insure a safe, friendly, and supportive environment for children, youth and their families
  • Assume the duties of a birthday party host including set up and take down of room, greet members and guests, assist parents, children and guests for the duration of the assigned birthday party, to regularly communicate with the member to ensure that everything is to their satisfaction
Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of post-secondary education in a related field (recreation, education, etc.)
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C Certification
  • Previous experience working in the camp, childcare, or education environment
  • Extensive experience in the delivery of indoor and/or outdoor youth and teen programming
  • Creative and innovative in the areas of program design and implementation
  • Excellent communication, writing and public speaking skills
  • A diplomatic, outgoing personality – capable of fostering relationships with members and employees
  • Proven leadership skills
  • A team player who can mentor, organize, and engage staff effectively
  • High standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity
  • Ability to influence progress through cooperation, conflict resolution, and facilitation
  • Innovative approach through critical thinking, collaboration, and evaluation of programs and services
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent member service and interpersonal skills
