Rundle College Society (“Rundle”) was founded in 1985 and provides an outstanding educational experience for approximately 1,250 students in kindergarten through grade 12. The school emphasizes academic achievement, character development, leadership training, and good citizenship. Rundle delivers parallel College and Academy programs on two separate physical campuses and online via Rundle Studio. Students become leaders, scholars, scientists, artists, musicians, athletes, humanitarians, philanthropists and more by discovering their passions and potential across a broad range of opportunities.
Rundle College is an independent, post‑secondary preparatory day school program that uses research‑driven pedagogy of mentorship and guidance to develop well‑rounded, future‑ready, global‑minded graduates. The Academy and Studio programs meet the needs of students with diagnosed learning disabilities.
Rundle is a not‑for‑profit corporation with approximately 175 faculty and 57 staff. It is committed to its mission of creating a nurturing, engaging environment that provides an enriched, personalized education preparing students for an ever‑changing world.
Key DutiesAcademic Pathway
- Support scheduling, timetabling and course changes.
- Effectively manage transitions from one division into another within our Rundle Program.
- Collaborate with staff across Rundle on program improvements.
- Support faculty and staff in providing the best possible outcomes for students.
- Support the development and implementation of academic plans.
- Support teacher pedagogy with evidence‑based practice.
- Support personalized support for students in collaboration with Student Services.
Character Pathway
- Engage in student discipline practices by managing behavioural concerns, carrying out conflict resolution strategies, and supporting the Principal when necessary.
- Oversee student leadership programs and initiatives, including leadership development and volunteering opportunities.
- Collaboratively manage character programming through Homeroom/TA and House programs.
Co‑Curricular Pathway
- Supervise co‑curricular programs, including clubs and off‑campus events and activities.
Personnel Development
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, and mentoring faculty and staff.
- Conduct classroom visits and teacher observations to ensure instructional excellence.
- Support teacher recognition initiatives, culture‑building and facilitating professional development opportunities.
Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations, such as supervision schedules, alternate schedules, and coordination with the facilities department.
Event Planning and Community Engagement
- Coordinate key school events (assemblies, awards ceremonies, celebrations).
- Engage with parents and the broader community to foster strong relationships and collaboration.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with an ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Demonstrated experience in discipline management, academic program oversight, and event coordination.
- Alberta Teaching Certificate and Teacher Quality Standard (TQS).
- A Master’s Degree in an area related to education would be considered an asset.
- Minimum three (3) years of exemplary classroom teaching experience.
- Minimum four (4) years combined teaching along with experience in supporting school‑based administration.
