The OpportunitySAIT's School of Construction is recruiting for 2 temporary salaried instructors to provide academic leadership and instruction to Pipe Trades & Pre‑Employment students and ensure they achieve established learning outcomes.
Reporting to the Academic Chair, you will create a learning environment that is technically supported and innovative in nature. Additionally, you will utilize current information and communication technology in the development and delivery of course content.

Note:
SAIT, as a post‑secondary institution, serves a diverse student population. Therefore, instructional duties may occasionally be required during early mornings, evenings, and weekends. If selected, specific scheduling arrangements will be discussed between you and the leader.
- Educate students utilizing existing curriculum resources and utilize a variety of instructional techniques to promote learning and personal development
- Create teaching and learning plans, course maps, course materials, exams, quizzes, presentations and assessments in support of learning objectives
- Prepare additional study and lab materials for learners
- Evaluate student progress and achievement
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learners
- Demonstrate personal interest in the success of the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learning
- Participate in promotional activities such as SAIT’s Open House
- Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyperson in a variety of installation and service environments is desired
- Minimum Alberta Journeyperson Certificate and Red Seal in Plumbing/Gas Fitting/Steam Fitting
- Prior teaching or training experience in adult education is an asset
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and presentation software
- Strong communication and human relations skills with the ability to convey the conceptual and practical aspects of subjects to students, respecting their diverse backgrounds, experience and individual learning styles
- Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in a consultative decision‑making process
- Commitment to ethical behavior
