Calgary Arts Academy is currently seeking applications for full time temporary elementary homeroom teaching position for the remainder of the 2025/2026 school year.
Calgary Arts Academy, an innovative and progressive Kindergarten to Year 12 Alberta Public Charter school, is seeking a passionate and qualified teacher to join our community. As the only school of its kind, Calgary Arts Academy engages children through Arts Immersion to become confident learners and spirited citizens. Teachers at Calgary Arts Academy have a passion for the arts and experience in one or more artistic disciplines.
Our unique approach delivers the Alberta curriculum through the immersion of the five fine arts: music, visual art, dance, drama, and literary art.
We are seeking an experienced and engaging Year 2/3 elementary school teacher who is excited to build relationships and teach through the arts. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively and generously with a creative team of teaching colleagues. They will focus on instructional excellence, building a caring classroom environment where arts are alive.
Calgary Arts Academy teachers:- deliver the Alberta curriculum through Arts Immersion, immersing music, visual art, dance, drama, and literary art into daily lessons.

- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in education
- Valid Alberta Interim or Permanent Teaching Certificate
- Experience in arts education or a strong background in one or more of the fine arts:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Adaptability and openness to feedback
- Passion for continuous professional development
- Commitment to Positive Discipline and the Circle of Courage
You may be asked to provide practicum evaluation reports, teaching evaluations, and/or recent professional letters of reference.
- Salary ranges from $58,523.40 to $96,762.60/year based on years of experience and post-secondary education
