Guest Teacher

Position Summary Calgary Classical Academy is seeking guest teachers who can provide classroom instruction and supervise students in grades K-10 in the event that their regular teacher is unavailable. Where complete lesson plans are not provided, quickly develop a lesson plan by referring to the relevant course lead sheet(s) Maintain classroom discipline Record daily student attendance Provide a report to the regular teacher concerning the material taught and student performance Other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience Essential Preferred Education Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent X Valid Alberta teaching certificate Experience Work experience or pre-service experience within a school environment Relevant Skills or Attributes Classroom Management Skills Experience delivering lessons using Direct (Explicit) Instruction X Understanding and appreciation of Calgary Classical Academy s philosophy Lesson planning and design Familiarity with the new Alberta Programs of Study X General content knowledge Specialized content knowledge or training (e.g. in math, history, languages, physical education, etc.)
