As an Assistant Librarian, you will work within the Spatial and Numeric Data Services Unit in the Taylor Family Digital Library.
Your role will involve delivering specialized course-based instruction and workshops on cartographic resources, collaborating with academic staff, and supporting research initiatives. In this multifaceted environment, you'll maintain current knowledge of cartographic trends and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide reference and consultation services on cartographic resources
• Develop and maintain knowledge of trends in cartographic tools
• Deliver specialized instruction and learning resources to users
• Conduct research consultations focusing on maps and data
• Support research projects and grant applications as needed
Requirements:
• Master’s degree from an accredited library program
• Strong service orientation and library instruction experience
• Aptitude for adopting new technologies in practice
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively
• Excellent communication skills in various formats
Engage with students and researchers at the University of Calgary, enhancing their skills in cartographic resources and spatial data.
