Oxford Learning Calgary Acadia is seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is ideal for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.
Teacher‑tutors do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position RequirementsAll teacher‑tutors work after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better. This role is in‑person and requires commuting to the location; relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable‑sector screening is mandatory.
Education- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math including Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology
- Some experience teaching or tutoring math and science at a Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Teaching online and in‑person
- Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling in post‑lesson notes
- Completing daily student communication updates
- Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Type: Part‑time
Salary: $17–$19 per hour
