Sessional Instructor, EDER Educational Research - Indigenous Research Methods in Education

Overview

We invite applications for a term certain Sessional Instructor position for Winter 2027. The term runs from January 4 to April 27, 2027. The position is in Educational Research and Educational Psychology and will involve teaching online and on campus graduate courses that are integral parts of the Werklund School of Education graduate programs.

An exploration of Indigenous research methods and related issues of design, and ethical considerations in conducting research. Our explorations in this course will be guided by four key questions. Who am I? Where do I come from? Where am I going, or what is my purpose? What are my responsibilities? These questions inform why and how we turn to Indigenous research methods.

• A completed doctorate in education or a related area.
• Evidence of successful teaching and leadership experience in school, university, or workplace settings.
• Demonstrated experience in online/distance education.
• Capacity to work effectively in a collaborative culture.
• Knowledge and understanding of the graduate programs and specializations in Educational Research are considered assets for the sessional teaching positions.
