The University of Calgary is seeking Sessional Instructors to teach various Economics courses for Fall 2026, with in-person sessions available. Ideal candidates will have experience and qualifications for undergraduate economics instruction.
This role is specifically for candidates willing to teach Microeconomic Theory and Advanced Microeconomic Theory classes. Requirements include a PhD in Economics or a related field, and strong candidates with an MA may be considered. Familiarity with undergraduate course delivery and effective teaching strategies is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach ECON 657 - Microeconomic Theory in person
• Deliver ECON 557 - Advanced Microeconomic Theory course
• Create engaging course materials and assessments
• Assess student performance and provide feedback
• Follow guidelines outlined in TUCFA's Collective Agreement
Requirements:
• PhD in Economics or closely related field
• Experience teaching at the university level
• Current CV and relevant teaching evaluations
• Three potential referees for references
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
