As an instructor at SAIT, you will help shape the future of the skilled trades by creating a supportive, engaging, and hands‑on learning environment for apprentices. Using existing curriculum resources and diverse instructional strategies, you'll foster technical skill development and personal growth in our learners.
You'll also benefit from comprehensive onboarding, ongoing mentorship, and year‑round instructor development programs to support your transition into teaching and continuous growth as an educator.
Note: SAIT, as a post‑secondary institution, serves a diverse student population. Therefore, instructional duties may occasionally be required during early mornings, evenings, and weekends. If selected, specific scheduling arrangements will be discussed between you and the leader.
How you'll contribute- Deliver engaging, practical instruction across all years of the Refrigeration Mechanic apprenticeship program
- Develop and adapt teaching materials, learning activities, and assessments to promote student success
- Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and support to learners to help them meet apprenticeship outcomes
- Participate in departmental activities such as SAIT Open House and promotional events
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to foster a collegial, team‑oriented environment
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable professional ready to share their expertise and help develop the next generation of tradespeople.
- Alberta Journeyperson Certificate and Red Seal in Refrigeration (required)
- Minimum of five years of experience in the trade, ideally across diverse service and installation environments
- Dual certification (Gasfitter A/B or Electrician) is a strong asset
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Comfort with Microsoft Office and presentation tools
- Experience with adult learners or on‑the‑job training is a plus — and support is available for those new to teaching
- A collaborative spirit and commitment to professional ethics and student success
