The Department of General Education at Mount Royal is seeking a contract lecturer for Numeracy and Scientific Literacy starting July 2026. Inspire students while teaching essential scientific and mathematical skills.
This role requires candidates with at least a Master’s Degree in Science, Mathematics, or Engineering to facilitate courses such as GNED 1003 – Innovation. You’ll guide students through foundational concepts in both the natural sciences and necessary mathematical applications for successful further education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach GNED 1101 and GNED 1003 courses
• Develop engaging lectures and course materials
• Assess and evaluate student progress regularly
• Facilitate discussions and promote scientific inquiry
• Support students in enhancing their numeracy skills
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline
• Ph.D. is highly preferred
• Experience in undergraduate teaching
• Professional background in scientific disciplines
• Encouragement for Indigenous applicants to apply
