Position Overview
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) - Academic Scholar in Radiology (Diagnostic Imaging). One or two full‑time positions in the Teaching stream (Assistant Professor or Associate Professor).
Start date March 1, 2026 (or mutually agreed upon).
- Teaching will be a significant component (didactic, clinical labs, professional skills labs, fourth‑year rotation teaching in the DVM program).
- Clinical duties include student rotation teaching in partner specialty practices and other practice settings.
- Participation in collaborative student or intern‑led clinical research is desired.
- University service engagements (course or rotation coordination, committee work, scholarly activity) will occupy the remaining distribution of effort.
Applicants must hold a DVM (or equivalent). Board certification (DACVR and/or Dipl. ECVR) is preferred; board‑eligible ACVR or ECVR residency‑trained candidates will be considered. An additional graduate degree is an asset. Eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta is required.
Teaching qualifications:
Assistant Professor – evidence or promise of teaching effectiveness, scholarly approaches to teaching, reflective practice, and professional learning activities related to pedagogical research.
Associate Professor – evidence of teaching effectiveness, demonstrated ability to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning, design student learning experiences and assessment strategies, continuous development of innovative teaching, and creation of respectful, inclusive learning environments.
