Join the University of Calgary as a Sessional Instructor for EDER 655.05, focusing on Indigenous ways of knowing in social studies. The role offers both online and campus teaching opportunities for the Fall 2026 semester.
Located within the Werklund School of Education, this position aims to address the needs of diverse learners while emphasizing Truth and Reconciliation. The instructor must hold a PhD or EdD and have experience in online distance learning to engage students effectively. This course will cover Indigenous pedagogies and their application in contemporary educational contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate EDER 655.05 courses for graduate students
• Discuss Indigenous pedagogical principles and frameworks
• Implement strategies for place-based learning
• Collaborate with colleagues in educational settings
• Mentor students through their academic journeys
Requirements:
• Completed doctorate in education or a related field
• Background in teaching with demonstrated success
• Experience in delivering online courses
• Ability to thrive in collaborative environments
• Knowledge of Educational Research programs is advantageous
